Orthopedic Assessments

An orthopedic assessment helps determine the best treatment plan and course of action for your condition.  This may include an assessment of your posture, gait, range of motion, neurological testing, and special orthopedic tests.

Myofascial Cupping

Myofascial cupping uses a combination of massage strokes and negative pressure to lift, separate, and stretch underlying soft tissue. Cupping Increases circulation,

Increases joint range of motion, and reduces muscle tension.

FAKTR

FAKTR is a soft-tissue technique and protocol used to treat common disorders of the musculoskeletal system. FAKTR uses a metal soft tissue instrument and movement to help relieve fascial restrictions. FAKTR can treat a wide variety of musculoskeletal conditions including tendinopathy, sprains, strains, entrapment syndromes, fascial restrictions such as plantar fasciitis, ITB syndrome, myofascial pain syndromes, adhesive capsulitis, shin splints and post-surgical recovery.

Kinesio Taping

The Kinesio Taping® Method is a rehabilitative taping technique that is designed to facilitate the body’s natural healing process while providing support and stability to muscles and joints without restricting the body’s range of motion. K-taping can help facilitate a weak muscles action or inhibit and relax an hyper-toned muscle.

Massage Therapy

Massage therapy can be an important part of your overall health maintenance.

Massage Therapy has been shown to aid in:

Reducing or eliminating pain.

Improving  relaxation.

Improving joint mobility.

Improving circulation.

Improving lymphatic drainage.

Reducing muscular tension and improving muscle function.

Massage therapy can be used for the treatment of both acute and chronic conditions. RMT's can work with a wide variety of patients, of all ages, in the treatment of illness, injury rehabilitation and disability.

Massage Therapists today use their knowledge of physiology and anatomy and combine traditional Swedish and modern massage therapy techniques with other therapies to treat their clients.

Frequency Specific Microcurrent

Frequency Specific Microcurrent (FSM) is a treatment that introduces specific mild electrical pulses into an area of damaged tissue. The frequencies change pain, function and even structure in a number of clinical conditions. FSM is very effective in reducing inflammation, treating nerve, joint, and muscle pain, and dissolving or softening scar tissue.

Microcurrent is current in millionths of an ampere. Micro amperage current is the same kind of current that occurs naturally in your nerves so you can’t feel the current and it is safe to use on patients with pins, plates, and artificial joints. The frequencies to reduce inflammation have helped thousands of patients with inflammatory conditions such as asthma, liver problems, irritable bowel, cardiovascular disease, and diabetic neuropathies.

Patients who are treated with FSM soon after motor vehicle accidents and surgeries have reduced pain and a greatly accelerated healing process due to the effects of both the current and the frequencies. FSM speeds up healing by increasing the cellular production of ATP (adenosine triphosphate) by 500%. ATP is the form of energy used by our cells. When damaged or dysfunctional tissue has additional access to ATP it stimulates the local healing process. This encourages tissue regeneration, reduces excessive inflammation and pain, and enhances repair. Numerous papers document its ability to improve healing in wounds and fractures. FSM has also been shown to reduce inflammation by 62% in just 4 minutes of treatment.

FSM is a pain free treatment. It requires the patient to be well hydrated so drinking 2 - 8oz glasses of water 2 hours prior to treatment is recommended to obtain maximum results. The current is conducted using wet towels, graphite gloves or electrodes. It is recommended that you bring shorts, a tank top and/or sports bra.

Manual Therapy is also used in conjunction with FSM, and it falls under the scope of practice of Massage Therapists. FSM treatments are covered by most insurance companies.

The following is a list of just some of the conditions where FSM has been shown to be beneficial:
